After living in East Tennessee for eight years, we decided it was time to move on. Our new home search brought us to the Shenandoah Valley of Virginia. It is truly beautiful here. We can see the Blue Ridge Mountains as we drive around, Skyline Drive is 15 minutes from our door and there is so much history in the area, including the formation of our nation and the Civil War.
So far we have been busy renovating our “new” home. We had wanted to build a brand new house, but that just didn’t work out for a number of reasons. It was a little disappointing, but we found a nice home that checked most of the boxes for what we wanted. Fred has been working non stop seeming to enjoy all the projects. Of course nothing ever goes smoothly, can be frustrating at times and always takes more time than anticipated. Shopping for new items for the renovations has been fun. It will be several more months until the major changes will be finished. I hope to post before and after pictures.
